Dear Laity View Families,
We have had another great, albeit short, week at Laity View! Our teachers have been planning all sorts of great visits to some wonderful venues for student field trips. Thank you for your support and help driving for our various field trips. If you can help us drive, please note that we require (a) the volunteer driver’s form, (b) the volunteer application/consent form, (c) proof of insurance (with your name on it either as the principal or another designated driver), and (d) your driver’s abstract from ICBC. You can drop them off as hard copies or email scans/photos of them to your child’s classroom teacher. Parents need to complete all the required paperwork at least 24 hours prior to any field trip and you can ask your child(ren)’s teacher to check if you have a current driver’s abstract on file or if you still need to complete any paperwork. A reminder that there is no school for students on Friday due to a non-instructional day. Please review the information below for some details about the upcoming week.

Halloween Costumes at School – Each year we get questions about what is allowed and not allowed at school. At Laity View, we are requesting that students do not bring any costume masks or costume accessories (for example wands, weapons, light sabers) to school. Please also read the letter to parents from our Superintendent about Halloween costumes and a safe and inclusive Halloween for more information.
Lost and Found: Our Lost and Found is overflowing. We will continue to display items on the rack outside the office. Please take a look for items that may belong to your children. We plan to pack everything up at the end of October to donate to charity.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Lawrance
