Dear Laity View Families,
Last Friday we honoured our veterans with our annual Remembrance Day Assembly. We had presentations from Mr. Neufeld and our Laity View singers and Mme Homeniuk’s class during the assembly. We extended this important topic beyond our assembly; our students learned about the accomplishments of specific veterans and created many displays and artwork about Remembrance Day. A reminder of Remembrance Day holiday on Monday and a professional development day on Tuesday, so there is no school for students. Please review the information below for some details about the upcoming week.

Three Way Reporting Conferences, Dec. 12 (early dismissal at 11:30am) and Dec. 13 – Our teachers will soon put out a sign up for term 1 conferences on the parent portal. You have the option to conference in person or online. Please be sure to sign up for your desired allotted time of either online or in person conferences. This is an important time where your child will be showing their learning for the term and setting goals for term 2. As such, please try to find alternate arrangements for your other children.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Lawrance

Information Night: Are you interested in hosting an international student?
Are you interested in welcoming an international student into your home? Join us for an online information session on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 7 p.m. Call 604.466.6555 Ext. 3 or email inted@sd42.ca to register.
Hosting an international student allows you and your family to experience new cultures and connections while making a significant difference in a student’s life. Host families are a valuable part of the Maple Ridge – Pitt Meadows International Education program and provide our students with support to help them adjust to living away from home. This support helps students have a positive experience both academically and out of school.
Whether you have hosted in the past or are new to the experience, we have varying program lengths, allowing you to choose which works best for your family.
