Happy New Year! We hope everyone had a fun-filled and relaxing break. It is hard to believe that one-third of the school year is complete which means there are two more terms and much more excitement for the remainder of the school year. Thank you to all our families for your generous donations and support shared during the month of December. We have an amazingly kind and caring school community. Mon., Jan. 6, 2025: Welcome back! School reopens after Christmas Break
January 7 – 11: Kindergarten Sibling Registration (for general and choice programs) – Any child who turns 5 years old in 2025 (born in 2020) with a sibling at Laity View Elementary is eligible to register for the 2025/26 school year.
January 8 – 10: Kindergarten Environmental School Registration
Thurs., Jan. 9: Ski and Snowboard field trip – all day (for those students registered)
Fri., Jan. 10: 12:25 pm PAC Treat Day – Popcorn
January 15 – 20: Kindergarten Choice Registration (French Immersion, Montessori)
Jan. 14 – Mar. 14: Grade 5 Middle Years Development Instrument Timeframe

SD42 Accessibility Form – Maple Ridge – Pitt Meadows School District No. 42 is inviting feedback from students, staff, and families on accessibility barriers in the district. These barriers can range from access to a school program, building, or school information, to the ability to receive a needed service or support. Inclement Weather Procedures – The decision to close schools due to weather conditions is ultimately the responsibility of the Superintendent, who must balance the safety of students, staff, and parents with the need to provide learning. The decision is not taken lightly and is the result of a carefully thought-out process that is reviewed after each experience and refined if necessary. The decision to close schools is made by approximately 6:30 a.m. Details are:
