Welcome back! We hope everyone had a restful and enjoyable summer holiday. There’s always something exciting about the start of a new school year. We are excited to see you soon!
My name is Lisa Lawrance and I am thrilled to continue as principal at Laity View Elementary. Joining me as vice principal is Katherine Ross. Together, we look forward to working with our staff and school community to ensure our students have opportunities for great learning experiences.
Staff are working hard to prepare our school for startup, and we want to assure you that we are committed to supporting every student as we start this new school year. Our PAC is also actively planning another eventful year.
Below is important information about school start-up. We have a late start on the first day, so students attend 12:30 – 2:20pm. This allows time for staff to have meetings in the morning.
We wish all of our students, families, and staff a fantastic start to the school year.
Tuesday, September 3rd
Tuesday, September 3rd at 12:30pm is the first day back for all students for the 2024/2025 school year. A reminder that DISMISSAL is at 2:20 pm. On the first day back to school, students return to their last year’s classrooms and line up spots. In classes where the existing teacher is no longer at our school, we will have a new teacher available. Students will be dismissed to the same spot. If the teacher has moved classrooms, they will communicate a new drop off / pick up spot to begin on day two. As there is no scheduled recess Tuesday afternoon, a snack is not necessary.
New Kindergarten students do not attend school on Tuesday and have received a letter of instruction via the parent portal regarding their AM/PM groups and gradual entry schedule starting on Wednesday.
New students in Grades 1 to 7 need to wait outside the front entrance of the school and we will welcome the students into the Library at 12:30pm. Students come for attendance, registration if necessary, and receive important information. Please return to the outside front entrance at 2:20pm to pick up your child.
We need an accurate count for our enrollment, organization, and staffing. Please let us know if your child will not be present during the first week. Thank you and we sincerely wish all of our students great success and enjoyment during this school year.
Sincerely,
Mrs. L. Lawrance, Principal
Note: Please see this MAP for line up areas of classrooms with no outside doors.
