Dear Laity View Families,
Thank you for visiting our Primary Science Fair last Thursday! What a fabulous turnout of parents, relatives, and friends to view the students’ work. They were all very proud of their accomplishments.
February 1st marked the start of Black History Month. Every February, people across Canada participate in Black History Month events and festivities that honour the legacy of Black people in Canada and their communities. To honour Black History Month at Laity View, staff are utilizing a variety of resources in their classrooms to teach about Black stories, Black art, and Black people as well as equality, empathy, and anti-racism. Ask your children to tell you about one of the prominent Black Canadians read over the announcements each week.
Please review the information below for some details about the upcoming week. Please also read the district inclement weather procedures. The decision to close schools is made by approximately 6:30 a.m. and posted to the district website and social media channels.
