Dear Laity View Families,
Luckily, the weather seems to have given us a few more warmer days and brighter skies than usual. Happy Family Day! A reminder there is no school for students on Monday and Tuesday due to Family Day holiday and a district non-instructional day. Please review the information below for some details about the upcoming week.
February 13 – 27: Grade 8 Transfer Period/Registration
Mon., Feb. 19: Family Day Holiday – School Closed
Tues., Feb. 20: School Based Non-Instructional Day – no school for students
Feb. 21 – July 7: Kindergarten Late Registration
Wed., Feb. 28: Pink Shirt Day! The leadership team invites you to wear pink on Wednesday, February 28th to support and promote kindness and inclusivity.
Grade 8 Registration – All Grade 8 registration for the 2024-25 school year will be done online through the Parent Portal. The Grade 8 Transfer Period will open at 12:00 noon February 13th. Deadline for completing a request for the Grade 8 Transfer Period is February 27th. Families with children currently enrolled in a Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows School District elementary school should submit an Existing Student Transfer Request in the Grade 8 Transfer Period. Read the Grade 8 Transfer Period Information 2024/25 tab on the school district website for more details.
Three Way Reporting Conferences, Mar. 14 (early dismissal at 11:30am) and Mar. 15 – Our teachers have put out a sign up for term 2 conferences on the parent portal. You have the option to conference in person or online. Please be sure you sign up during the allotted time if your teacher has asked for online/in person conferences to be separated. This is an important time where your child will be showing their learning for the term and setting goals for term 3. As such, please try to find alternated arrangements for your other children.
