Dear Laity View Families,
With a solar eclipse in store for Monday, a reminder that looking directly at the sun during a solar eclipse without adequate eye protection can cause instant, severe eye injury, according to the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre. In Metro Vancouver, we will see a partial solar eclipse. Only about 28% of the sun will be covered by the moon, according to the Space Centre, and our view may be limited due to cloud cover and rain in the forecast. Outdoor time for students may be limited or adjusted during this time depending on local conditions. Please review the information below for some details about the upcoming week.
Mon., Apr. 8: 10:43 am – 12:20 pm SOLAR ECLIPSE – The district will advise us regarding possible adjusted outdoor lunch time depending on local conditions.

Student Learning Surveys – If you have a student in Grade 4 or 7, parents are invited to complete a Student Learning Survey. This year, parents do not need a logon code to access the online Student Learning Survey. Electronic surveying is available until May 3rd. The website to access the electronic survey is: http://www.bced.gov.bc.ca/sat_survey/access.htm. We invite you to take 15 minutes of your time to fill this out. The more parents who complete these surveys, the higher quality of feedback we will receive. Your input is appreciated.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Lawrance
