Lots of fun was had by all on Friday as many students used their creativity in packing their belongings to school for “Anything but a Backpack Day.” A shoutout goes to Ms. Holman’s class for organizing this fun event.
Emergency Drills
Every school year all classes are required to practice a variety of emergency drills as the purpose of these practices is to ensure our students know what to do incase of an emergency.
As per district and fire regulations, we are required to have 6 fire drills (3 in the fall and 3 in the spring). During these drills classes, under the direction of their classroom teacher exit the building and meet the other classes on our back field.
As per our district safety procedures we are also required to practice lock down drills. During this drill classroom doors are closed and locked and windows are covered. Students will follow the direction of their classroom teacher and practice remaining still and quiet.
On Thursday, October 17th our school will be participating in the Shake Out BC Earthquake drill. Our school drill will take place at 10:00 am. For information regarding this event please visit https://www.shakeoutbc.ca/
If you have any questions regarding any of our practice drills, please feel free to speak to Mrs. Dailey or Mr. Sheridan.
Individual School Photos
Photo Expressions has uploaded all photos that were taken. Your child’s photo can be viewed by logging onto photoexpressions.ca/orders and enter your child’s individual code. A card with this number was given to your child on photo day.
Nature Park
As you may have read on our PAC Facebook page, our Nature Park is definitely a popular place for people to hang out. Unfortunately, not only is there often garbage and graffiti left behind, but recently there was an attempt to light the structure on fire. The local RCMP have been contacted and on weekends they will begin making routine stops to check out the activity down there. Mr. Jung is also beginning a Grade 6/7 leadership group where the focus will be on “Taking back our Nature Park.” If after hours or on weekend, you suspect any suspicious activity on school grounds please call the following number
