Albion Remembers
As part of our Remembrance Day observations this year, we are creating a display in our front entrance titled “Albion Remembers” to acknowledge members of our Albion Community who have served for their country. Students are invited to bring in photos of veteran family members for display in our front entrance. Please clearly label pictures with name/title of the family member in the image, when/where they served, student name and division. Please send in copies, not original photos. Photos will be accepted until Nov. 6th. Please send or bring copies of the photos to stephanie_downes@sd42.ca
This year’s Remembrance Day Assembly will occur on Friday, November 8th beginning at 10:45 am. Poppies will be given out to all students prior to the assembly. We do request that a donation for the Royal Canadian Legion is sent in with your child on this day.
PAC News
A huge thank you to all who came out to the Christmas Market that was held this weekend for it was a great success. Please ensure you see the dates below under “Upcoming Events” for important PAC dates that are coming up.
Body Science (Sexual Health Education)
Each year, throughout BC, students in elementary grades receive instruction in sexual health education. Instruction is mandated for all BC students by the Ministry of Education and it is included in the Physical and Health Education program. On occasion, some schools bring in experts in the field to address the topic with the school community. We are please to inform you that this year, your PAC has sponsored for Corinne Underwood of Choices for Sexual Health to visit the school to work with parents and students in Grade 4 to Grade 7.
Further information regarding the body science student presentations that will be occurring on November 27th and November 28th will be sent home next week. There will be a parent information session at the school on the evening of Wednesday, November 20th from 6:30 pm- 8:00 pm. We do request that parents who will be attending please RSVP through our office so then we know how many parents to prepare for.
Student Inclusive Conferencing
Student Inclusive Conferencing is just around the corner on December 5th and 6th. Your child’s classroom teacher should have reached out with an informal report regarding your child’s progress so far. If you have any questions regarding your child’s learning please ensure you contact your child’s classroom teacher and set up an appointment. For information regarding Studnet Inclusive Conferencing please visit the school district’s reporting website here.
