Weekly Memo May 29 – June 2, 2023

Dear Albion Families,

Congratulations to all intermediate students for their hard work on Friday at the Albion Track and Field event.  Over the next week Mrs. Matlock will be taking the results from this event to form the Grade 4/5 and Grade 6/7 teams that will represent Albion at the District Track and Field Event at MRSS.

A reminder that on Tuesday, May 30^th the Primary Cross-Country event will be held at the Maple Ridge Fair Grounds.

Please note that these times are approximate.  Parents are asked to check their child into the Albion tent 15 minutes before their scheduled race.

We would also like to request that parents that park in the Albion Sports Complex parking lot and walk to the fairgrounds.  This will hopefully split the traffic congestion on Jim Robson Way and improve traffic flow.  We would also like to be kind neighbours and try to keep some parking available for patrons of the Planet Ice Complex.

Cycle BC will be visiting Albion this Tuesday-Thursday.  All participating classes are welcome to store their bikes in the courtyard on these days. Don’t forget to bring your helmet!

The schedule is as follows:
8:30 – 9:20am: Yates
9:20 – 10:10am: Parker-Carri
10:40am – 11:30am: Holman
12:35 – 1:25pm: Rankin
1:25 – 2:15pm: Thompson

On Friday we will be hosting our Ready, Set Kindergarten event for all 2023/2024 incoming Kindergarten students.  A reminder that the 2022/2023 Kindergarten students will be dismissed at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.

The schedule for the event is as follows:
Session 1:  11:50 am -1:00 pm (Students with the last names that begin with the letters A-K)
Session 2: 1:05 pm-2:15 pm (Students with the last names that begin with the letters L-Z)

We ask that you please enter the school through the front doors as you will then be directed to our multi-purpose room.  Parents are to remain with their children during their visit to the school.
