My apology that it has been a couple of weeks since a weekly memo has been posted as unfortunately I had been recovering from the flu. My hope is that this week’s memo will catch all families up with all the happenings that are occurring at the school.
A huge thank you to all the families that attended the Bingo fundraiser on Friday evening. The event was very well attended and was lots of fun. Once we get a total of the amount that was raised I will be sure to post it!
I would like to announce that effective March 31st I will be taking a medical leave as over spring break as I will have had knee surgery. In my absence Mr. Sheridan will be assuming the role of Acting Principal and Mrs. Ryder will be assuming the role of Acting Vice Principal. During Mrs. Ryder’s reassignment, Ms. Kahlert has been hired as the Kindergarten/Grade 1 teacher. A warm welcome to Ms. Kahlert to Albion and congratulations to Mr. Sheridan and Mrs. Ryder as they take on their new positions.
Term 2 Student Inclusive Conferencing
A reminder that Term 2 Student Inclusive Conferencing is occurring this week. Please be sure to log on to the Parent Portal to set up a meeting time with your child’s classroom teacher. Students will be dismissed on Thursday at 11:30 am and on Friday there are no regular classes.
Be sure to check out the Lost and Found for there are several unclaimed items in there. Any items remaining after Friday, March 14th will be donated to charity.
Students Arriving Late
It is being observed that we continue to have a number of students who are arriving to school after the 8:30 am bell. If students arrive after this bell they are late. It has come to our attention that some families think that there was a grace period from the 8:30 am bell to the start of the morning announcements. Please know that this is incorrect as any student arriving after 8:30 am will be marked late. For clarity, students arriving at 8:30 am prior to the morning announcements are sent to class and the classroom teacher is responsible for marking the student late. If the student arrives after the morning announcements then they need to report to the office for a late slip.
