2025/2026 School Year Start date
First day of school – September 2, 2025: Students in grades 1-7 start at 12:30 pm (students report to their last year’s teachers). A detailed memo will be sent out in late August.
Incoming Kindergarten students will have have an opportunity to attend an optional open house on Tuesday, September 2 from 1-2 pm. A detailed memo regarding this will be sent to all Kindergarten families the week of August 18th.
The complete Albion school calendar can be found under the Calendar Tab on this website.
School Fees 2025/2026
Once again, this September Albion Elementary will continue with the school supply program. A flat fee of $55 per child (planner not included) will be charged. This flat fee of $55 per child will cover ALL personal school supplies that each child will need for the school year.
This flat fee will ensure that school supplies bought for all students:
-Are the appropriate learning supplies for the grade level.
-Are of good quality and will last the year.
-Are cost effective.
-Will eliminate the “hassle” factor many families experience struggling to find required supplies.
-Will help to reduce visible inequalities with regards to student socio economic situations by ensuring everyone has the consistent and comparable learning materials
How will this process work?
Classroom teachers will bulk order the required student school supplies in June. Supplies will be delivered to the school in August and will be ready for use when children arrive in September.
Any families with additional questions about this process, or who are concerned about financial hardship, are encouraged to speak with Mrs. Dailey or their classroom teacher directly for assistance.
Classroom teachers will request school supply money in September once new classrooms have been established.
Salvation Army Back to School Supplies

Education Assistant Program at Ridge Meadows College
If you or someone you know may be interested in a career working with children and youth with diverse abilities, Ridge Meadows College (operated by SD42) still has seats available for the September cohort of its Education Assistant (EA) program.
The demand for this job is high as the province faces a shortage of EAs and virtually all graduates of the program move on to work in school districts across B.C., including Maple Ridge – Pitt Meadows School District No. 42. Courses take place Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings and sometimes on Saturdays.
If you’d like to learn more about the program, you can visit the website at https://rmcollege.sd42.ca/program/education-assistant/ or register for the next information session taking place on July 9, 2025.
