Welcome Back!
We hope everyone had a fantastic summer and we hope you had the opportunity to spend lots of time together as a family. The staff at Albion are very excited about beginning the 2024/2025 school year.
Tomorrow morning it is requested that the Kindergarten students who were Mrs. Vis’s and Ms. Vanhulsen’s and who are in grades 2-7 report to the classes that they were dismissed from today. Students who were in Mrs. Ryder’s, Mrs. MacKenzie’s, Mrs. Crisafi’s or Ms. Weir’s class last year are asked to report to the gymnasium. Throughout the remainder of the week students will remain in groups and will be participating in a variety of school culture, community building and assessment activities. Some activities may require students to go outside so, for your child to fully participate in these activities, please ensure that they have runners, sunscreen, a hat and a water bottle.
A reminder that this year classroom teacher’s have bulk ordered school supplies. A school fee of $55.00 per student will go out next week via the parent portal. It is requested that parents please hold off on payment until your child is assigned to their classroom teacher.
We understand that students are always looking forward to finding out who their classroom teacher will be, and our goal is to get them into their classes as soon as possible. As in previous years, over the next few days we will continue to monitor our enrollment and once we have received confirmation from the district and the staff is confident with student placement decisions, we will transition our students to their new classroom.
We also understand that the parking lot can be very frustrating however with 535 students and no back entrances or exits from our property we must ensure that our students are safe when arriving and leaving school.
To help ensure student safety …
· Please do not get out of your vehicle when dropping your child off as this will cause the traffic to back up on 240th street.
· The only vehicles that are permitted to park on the south side of the “Kiss and Go” are licensed daycares with parking passes.
· Do not park in the front or back lot as these spots are designated for school staff.
· If you do not have an accessibility pass, please do not park in an accessibility parking spot.
· The north gate to the front lot is closed each day at approximately 2:00 pm and it will reopen at approximately 2:30 pm.
· Only vehicles with a parking pass are allowed to park on the curve at the front of the school.
· Please also remember to be respectful of our neighbors by parking in designated parking places and to also not block driveways.
In closing, please know that the staff at Albion are looking forward to this school year and working alongside of you in ensuring that your child receives the best possible education.
Have a great first week!
