🌟 Albion Weekly Family Newsletter: September 15–20, 2025

September 14, 2025 By Tanya Dailey

September 15–20, 2025

Dear Albion Families,

This past week, our students have been settling into their new classes and learning their new routines. A reminder to families: if you have any questions regarding your child, or important information to share with your child’s teacher, please schedule an appointment to discuss. At Albion, we believe working together ensures the best possible start to the school year.

πŸ“Œ Save the Date!
Our PAC has organized a Back-to-School BBQ on Thursday, September 25 from 4–6 pm. Teachers will open their classroom doors from 5–6 pm so students can proudly share their new classrooms. We hope to see you there!

πŸš΄β€β™‚οΈ Cops for Cancer – TOUR DE COAST

We are thrilled to announce that Cops for Cancer will be stopping at Albion on Wednesday, September 17 at 9:35 am! Last year’s event was inspiring, and we’re excited to be part of it again.
As a participating school, we will be raising funds to support children and families living with cancer.

To support the team and their raising $620,000 to help support Paediatric Cancer Research and support programs, we are asking all students to please bring in $2.00, as our hope is to raise a total of $1000.00 to help them reach this goal!

If we are able to raise $1000.00, Mrs. Dailey and Mrs. von Krogh will dye their hair very funky colours!

For more information on visit Cops for Cancer

Thank you for your generosity!

πŸ“„ 2025/2026 Forms & Payments

  • Consent Forms: Please log into the Parent Portal and complete the required district consent forms.

  • Student Verification Forms: A copy will be sent home this week. Please review, make corrections, sign the back, and return promptly.

  • Supplies & Planner Payments: Notices are available on the Parent Portal.

🚨 Emergency Practice Drills

Throughout the year, students will take part in fire, earthquake, and lockdown drills to practice safety procedures. Our first fire drill and lockdown drill are scheduled for this week. If you have any questions, please connect with your child’s teacher.

πŸŽ‚ Birthday Celebrations

Birthdays are special! However, please do not plan events during school hours (e.g., lunches, balloons, goodie bags). If you wish to bring a treat, you must contact the classroom teacher in advance.

🩺 Student Injuries & Insurance

Please note: the School District does not cover medical/dental costs from student injuries at school. Families are responsible for these costs. Optional accident coverage is available through providers such as Insure My Kids or Study Insured Student Accident.

πŸ’Š Important Medication Reminder

If your child requires medication at school:

  • Parents must complete a Medical Intervention Form (available at the office or online under Parent β†’ Medical & Driving Forms).

  • Medication must be supplied in its original container.

  • Students may not carry medication unless specifically authorized.
    Forms must be updated annually.

πŸ₯ͺ Food Programs at Albion

We are proud to support families with several food programs:

  • Breakfast Club: Open daily, 8:00–8:25 am.

  • Snack Program: Healthy fruits, veggies, and snacks available during the day.
