HEALTH AWARENESS
We are continuing to practice Health Awareness this year for everyone entering our school – this includes staff, students, and visitors. Health awareness includes checking regularly for any symptoms of illness (including, but not limited to, COVID-19 symptoms) and staying home if ill.
HALLOWEEN FOOD DRIVE
The grade 7 leadership group is running a food drive to help people in our community. We will be collecting donations of money and non-perishable food items from October 26th – November 2nd. Leadership students will come to classes each morning to collect donations.
All donations will be given to the Friends in Need food bank. Thank you for helping people in our community – together, we can scare hunger!
PARENT PORTAL CONSENT FORMS
Please log in to the parent portal and complete all consent forms. Walking field trip permissions and various photo permissions are used by teachers throughout the year. We appreciate having these forms completed.
SOCIAL MEDIA AWARENESS
ERASE is offering Student Sessions with Parents (after school hours) on Social Media Awareness. The sessions will cover online Social Media Awareness, Digital Footprints and Cyberbullying. They will take place on November 15, 2022, 6:30pm to 7:30pm and November 30, 2022, 6:30pm to 7:30pm

ATTENDANCE
If you know that your child is going to be late or absent from school, please let us know through either the parent portal, by calling us at 604-467-5551 or by emailing mre_reception@sd42.ca. If you know your child will be absent multiple days in a row you can enter them all at once so that you do not need to update it each day.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
Want to make a difference in the community where you live? Come out and help the Alouette River Management Society tomorrow, Saturday October 15th! They will be planting native shrubs and removing invasive species. See the attached flyer for details on how to sign up.
ABORIGINAL EDUCATION FAMILY NIGHT
There will be a fun-filled family evening hosted by SD42 Aboriginal Education Slahal and Family Connections on Thursday November 3rd at Westview Secondary. For more information, please see the flyer attached below.
LOST AND FOUND
The lost and found is filling up! We will place it outside the front entrance next week so that you can check if any of your child’s belongings have been turned in.

PAC Updates
The next PAC meeting is on Monday, November 14 at 7:00 pm in the school library. All parents and guardians of MRE students are members of the PAC and are welcome to attend the meetings. We hope to see you there!
There will be a Grade 7 Leaving Planning Meeting before the PAC meeting on November 14th. If you have a student in Grade 7 this year you and your child are welcome to attend in the school library from 6:00-7:00 pm.
