PAC stands for Parent Advisory Council. The purpose of the PAC is to improve public education for our students by including and supporting parents. Parents are partners in education and have a voice at the school and district level and are encouraged to share constructive input and recommendations at meetings. We aim to make a connection between home, school and our neighborhood through our involvement and events. At Maple Ridge Elementary we value inclusivity and positivity and strive to lead by example for our children and community.
Members and Executive
Every parent/guardian of a child attending Maple Ridge Elementary is automatically a PAC Member. PAC Executives are members who have chosen to hold, and have been voted in to, an official position within the PAC. Our executive positions include Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, Secretary and DPAC Representative. The PAC Executives role is to advise the membership on matters of concern, assist parents in accessing the system, and to organize council events which support the school. The PAC Executives are bound by the Code of Conduct and Constitution & By-laws which they sign when elected each year.
Meetings are held monthly and we encourage all members to attend meetings to stay informed and contribute to our school community. You can find our meeting dates and information either on our Facebook group or through the school newsletter and Friday blasts.
Stay informed with the latest MRE news by joining our Maple Ridge Elementary PAC Facebook group. You will find our calendar of scheduled events and fundraisers as well as school communication and even community events. Moving forward this group will be the only official MRE PAC Facebook group, any other group with a similar name will not be affiliated with our PAC Executive Team.
If you are interested in getting involved and would like to know how, please email us at email@example.com, we are always happy to share information and answer questions.
