GROW THE GRINCH HEART

This year Divisions 9 and 16 are inviting the school to help grow the Grinch’s heart by donating non-perishable food items and some basic winter clothing (scarves, mitts and hats). All items will be donated to the Salvation Army and the Friends in Need Food Bank.  We will be collecting donations from December 1-16. If you have any food or clothing items to donate, please send them with your child to school or drop them off in the respective boxes in front of the office.

Thank you so much for helping us make this a memorable donation.

A MESSAGE FROM MS. LINDGREN

If your family is in need of support this Christmas—whether for a festive meal or gifts for your children—we strongly encourage you to apply as soon as possible. These programs have limited capacity, and spots tend to fill up quickly.

Key Details:

The Christmas Hamper Society offers a grocery gift card for a traditional Christmas dinner, plus gifts for children under 17.

Once approved, families will be assigned a time to “shop” for toys at their Toy Barn or via their Good Neighbour Program.

The means test and proof of income are required as part of the application process.

For the Salvation Army Christmas Village, registration opens on Tuesday, November 18 at 12:00 pm.

🎅 Santa Mall is Coming to École Maple Ridge Elementary! 🎁

We’re excited to bring back our annual Santa Mall, a heartwarming school tradition that inspires students to experience the joy of giving!

Students are invited to make a small donation (usually between $1–$5) and then choose two special gifts for family members. Donations will go towards funding new stage curtains for our school Fine Arts program.

The items available for students to select range from household treasures and self-care goodies to books, jewelry, and more. All items are donated by our generous school community and organized by our wonderful volunteers.

Our goal is to encourage students to give to others without expecting anything in return. While we recognize that not all families celebrate Christmas, we believe that learning to share and show kindness is a meaningful value for everyone in our school community.

Students will visit the Santa Mall on December 8–9, and teachers will share your child’s exact time slot soon. Gifts will be lovingly wrapped by parent volunteers and Grade 7 helpers before heading home.

If you’d like to help make the event magical, please sign up here: https://signup.com/group/47703560186256400
