Friday Blast
Maple Ridge Elementary

WELCOME BACK!
We hope your winter break was an opportunity for rest and relaxation! The new year is a great opportunity to revisit the goals which were set at the student led conferences prior to the break.
In addition to the goals set by students during conferences, school staff has collaboratively set goals for the year as well. These goals will be posted on our school website. Our school growth plan goals are:
- Creating a stronger writing culture in the school community. Our goal is to help students build and demonstrate a growth mindset and to increase confidence, excitement, stamina, resilience, and willingness to “dig into” their writing.
- Helping students understand challenging emotions and explore ways to develop resilience.
The MRE community is involved in several initiatives around these topics, for example, the well-attended weekly Student Writing Club, school wide “Writing Blasts” and “Buddy Writing.”
We are looking forward to a year or learning and growing together in 2023. The first week seemed to fly by!
HEALTH AWARENESS
In the new year we will be continuing to practice Health Awareness for everyone entering our school – this includes staff, students, and visitors. Health awareness includes checking regularly for any symptoms of illness (including, but not limited to, COVID-19 symptoms) and staying home if ill. HOT LUNCHES ~ Upcoming PAC Hot Lunches in 2023:
