INCLUSION AND DIVERSITY ASSEMBLY
Our assembly on January 24th will focus on the themes of inclusion and diversity. On this day, students are encouraged to wear clothing representative of their culture and heritage. Some ideas include wearing items of traditional clothing, colours, or any other small items such as a pin with a flag, crest or guild.
BOOK FAIR – French (and English)
On February 6th and 7th there will be a French Book Fair taking place. All classes can attend as there will also be a selection of English books available.
HEALTH AWARENESS
In the new year we will be continuing to practice Health Awareness for everyone entering our school – this includes staff, students, and visitors. Health awareness includes checking regularly for any symptoms of illness (including, but not limited to, COVID-19 symptoms) and staying home if ill.
GRADE 8 REGISTRATION – attention grade 7 parents
Grade 8 registration for the 23/24 school year will open on the parent portal at noon on Thursday, February 2, 2023, and will close at midnight on Friday, February 17, 2023.
Some ‘at a glance’ information:
- The electronic date/time stamp for a registration is created when a family initiates the on-line application. Families do not have to rush through the application and get it completed to achieve the electronic date/time stamp.
- Last year, a number of families with in-district students registered using the out of district application. Please be sure to use the orange button pathway. This way, you access your existing portal profile data, and the process is streamlined.
- The acceptance criteria can be found at: https://www.sd42.ca/assets/media/9200.1-Student-Placement-revised-June-6-2017.pdf )
