Friday, January 20, 2023

INCLUSION AND DIVERSITY ASSEMBLY

On January 24th we will be having an assembly with a focus on the themes of inclusion and diversity.  On this day, students are encouraged to wear clothing representative of their culture and heritage.  Some ideas include wearing items of traditional clothing, colours, or any other small items such as a pin with a flag, crest or guild.

GRADE 8 REGISTRATION  – attention grade 7 parents

Do you have a child going into Grade 8 next year? The District Parent Advisory Council is inviting parents to join its annual secondary school online information session on January 26 (7 p.m.), 2023.

While the Zoom portion is limited to the first 90 participants, the presentation will also be broadcast live and saved on the DPAC YouTube channel for all to see.

  • Register in advance here: https://bit.ly/3iBcW1A
  • Watch on YouTube: https://bit.ly/3iAvWxd

Here’s how to register your student:

Grade 8 registration for the 23/24 school year will open on the parent portal at noon on Thursday, February 2, 2023, and will close at midnight on Friday, February 17, 2023.

Some ‘at a glance’ information:

  • The electronic date/time stamp for a registration is created when a family initiates the on-line application.  Families do not have to rush through the application and get it completed to achieve the electronic date/time stamp.
  • Last year, a number of families with in-district students registered using the out of district application.  Please be sure to use the orange button pathway.  This way, you access your existing portal profile data, and the process is streamlined.
  • The acceptance criteria can be found at: https://www.sd42.ca/assets/media/9200.1-Student-Placement-revised-June-6-2017.pdf )
