STUDENT INCLUSIVE CONFERENCES
Student inclusive conferences will take place on December 8th and 9th. These conferences are a time to celebrate your child’s learning and growth and to set goals for the next portion of the school year. If you have not already done so, please sign up for a time slot on the parent portal.
Conferences can be done in-person at the school or on Zoom …it’s your choice. Students, parents, and the classroom teacher are all part of the conference.
Reminder: December 8th will be an early dismissal day at 11:30 am and December 9th classes will not be in session.
LUG-A-MUG
On Thursday, December 8th we will be having a Hot Chocolate Lug-A-Mug Day! Thank you to the PAC and volunteers who generously provide hot chocolate to all students on this day. Please do your part to save the planet and send your child to school with their own mug on this day (we will have paper cups in case you forget).
CHRISTMAS DONATION BINS
Our school will once again be creating food and gift hampers for families in need over the holidays. If you would like to donate a non-perishable food item or unwrapped gift, please bring it to the bins in front of the office. These bins are labelled “Christmas Hampers”. Please see the attached flyer below.
HOLIDAY HAVOC SPIRIT DAY
On December 13th it is “Holiday Havoc” Spirit Day. Please dress in your most festive attire!
“MRE CELEBRATES” WINTER CONCERT
We are delighted to invite families to watch a performance of the “MRE Celebrates” Concert. Families are asked to attend one concert so that we stay within the fire-code limit for our gym capacity. Both concerts will be the same. Admission is free, but a donation to the food bank is greatly appreciated.
Wednesday, Dec. 14 9:00 a.m. Concert #1 for families
Thursday, Dec. 15 12:45 p.m. Concert #2 for families
HEALTH AWARENESS
We are continuing to practice Health Awareness this year for everyone entering our school – this includes staff, students, and visitors. Health awareness includes checking regularly for any symptoms of illness (including, but not limited to, COVID-19 symptoms) and staying home if ill.
KINDNESS COUNTS SHIRTS
Although Kindness Day is not until February, we will be commencing sales of the Kindness Counts T-Shirts and Hoodies early in order to ensure they arrive in time for the event. Students will be bringing home a paper copy of the order forms and there is a digital copy attached to this Friday Blast. Orders can be paid by cash or cheque.
Deadline to order: December 9th.
LOST AND FOUND
The Lost and Found is so full! Please ask your child to check if any of their items are in the Lost and Found. We will be donating any items still remaining after December 16th.
