Glenwood Welcome Back and Start-up Information 2017-2018
A hearty welcome to 2017-2018 to all!
We trust you had a relaxing summer! Ms Davis and I are looking forward to starting the year and working with you – our team of amazing educators, parents and students.
We are very excited to have an intrepid team of educators and learners in the building this year. We are starting this year with quite a few new(er) and/or returning staff members. In June, we said good bye to:
Nicole Anzinger, Sue Barre, Karen Blom, Christa Dey Girard, Rebecca Mardis, Robyn Pedersen, Renae Pennell, James White, Dave Allen and Benjamin Wickham. Our best wishes accompany them on their endeavours.
We want to extend a warm welcome to:
Melissa Affleck, Nicola Gray, Katie Waddell, Angela Manyk, Taylor Horniachek, Megan Olynyk, Kim Larson and Katelyn Hebert! We are confident you will quickly find a mentor to immerse you in Glenwood’s “Grizzly” ways! Additionally, welcome back to Katie McGuire who is back from a maternity leave!
Shape of day 1: September 5, 2017:
We will have signs and maps up so students could find their last year’s room.
8:30 am – Students report to the classrooms. New students will meet in the library. It will be a soft SMART start for our students.
9:30 am – school wide assembly
10:00 am – recess
After recess, students will return to last year’s rooms, and we will dismiss students at 11:00 am.
Reminder to parents – please, check with your child’s teacher to determine WHERE to pick up your child. Often outside doors are used to dismiss students.
The journey on which we are about to embark will not be about the destination only, but about the expedition, the exploration and the perseverance! We know that what you do on a daily basis is what constitutes the success of our children.
