Welcome back and, to our new community members, just a simple welcome to Edith McDermott. We are super excited about the coming year as there are some fantastic new staff, new focuses and new opportunities. This is such a great place, for students, staff and parents!!! I know there is lots of energy and wonders at this time of year however, I thought I would just share the most pertinent information at this time.
Day 1 Sept 4 8:30-11:00
Students report to their last years classroom (Bring minimal supplies and the teachers will let you know what to bring for the remainder of the week)
Students new to the community report to the library (straight through the front doors)
-new students will be moved to age appropriate classrooms from there
-parents can pick up the new students from the library at 11:00
Our new Kindergarten students stay home….one more day J
Day 2 Sept 5 8:30-2:20
First Day for our new Kindergarten students
-they attend in groups as scheduled
Returning students again report to their last years class
Returning K’s from Ms. Griffis and Mrs. Palecek will be with Mrs. Kong, Mr. Stubley and Mrs. McLaughlin
9:00 Welcome Back Assembly
Day 2 pattern (other than the assembly) will be followed until we move into our regular classeswith the permission of the board office. Enrollment across the district is up and as a result moving into classes may be a little delayed. Please be patient and recognize that we will move as soon as possible.
Our first few days remain extremely important despite students not being in their regular classes. This is when we re-connect as a community, re-establish our norms, and begin the process of setting the tone for the year.
