The Giving Season

December 3, 2019 By Audrey Hammer

It is the season of Christmas giving – thank you for your generousity at Christmas and throughout the entire year!

For those of you looking for donation ideas, we have a few options.

The Giving Tree is in the foyer, there are tags on the tree –  if you wish, please take a tag and purchase the requested gift and submit it to the office.  If you choose to wrap the gift, please put the tag on the gift.  These gifts will be distributed in hampers to Edith McDermott families.

The Global Citizens global initiative project this year is Education in Kenya.  They are now collecting used household batteries; the batteries are counted and will be recycled.  Based on these numbers, Free the Children will donate the value of zinc recycled in support of zinc and health programming in Kenya.  Zinc deficiency is a major health problem in Kenya and worldwide.

Next week the Global Citizens will be selling beautiful Rafiki beaded necklaces / bracelets that are made by women in Kenya.  They will be holiday wrapped and the cost is $10 – they are a wonderful gift that keeps on giving!

The local Global Citizen initiatives continue with the collecting of food for hampers and the local food bank.

Thank you again for your consideration and support of these projects.
