A warm welcome to all of the families considering registering at the new c̓əsqənelə Elementary planned to open for the 2019/20 school year. I am very excited to be the first principal of c̓əsqənelə and I am looking forward to working with all of you to create the very best learning environment for your children.
This new school promises to be a wonderful adventure for all of us! I can’t wait to begin working with students, parents, and staff to create a special place for students to learn and develop. I look forward to meeting all of you in the coming months as we begin to create this special school community together.
Throughout the year please visit our school’s website for additional information. We will use this website and the Parent Portal to provide school updates as the year progresses. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns in the months ahead.
Sincerely,
Mr. J. Wheatley
Principal, c̓əsqənelə Elementary
About the principal
Jon Wheatley has worked with Maple Ridge – Pitt Meadows School District No. 42 for 27 years, starting as a teacher before becoming a vice principal and principal. He has taught in classrooms from kindergarten to Grade 7.
Early in his career, Jon was part of the school team that opened the new Yennadon elementary school, where he spent 13 amazing years.
