Dear c’usqunela Families,
It was great to see all the kids back today with lots of big smiles and so excited to be returning!!! It was really nice to have a “normal” return to school without all the covid concerns we have had to navigate the past two years. Some things to be aware of for the rest of the week are….
- Regular school days begin on tomorrow (Sept. 7th) with the school day being 8:30am-2:20pm. Please note that there has been a District calendar adjustment and dismissal is now 2:20pm (not 2:25). Students will continue go back to their last years teacher/classroom for this first week. Our goal is to move into new classroom placements on Friday of this first week.
- Rather than requiring parents to purchase school supplies for their children, c̓əsqənelə has again ordered bulk school supplies for students for this coming year. We will continue to charge a flat fee of $55 per child (planner included). This flat fee of $55 will cover ALL personal school supplies that each child will need for the school year. If any family wishes to purchase supplies separately they will again have this option. Classroom teachers will request school supply money in September once new classrooms have been established.
- The current covid health guidance is very similar to what we experienced the last 3 months of the past school year. This means all regular school routines can now return accompanied by an emphasis on hand washing and the continued use of the daily health check for all students and staff.
- Thank you to all drivers for being so cautious in the parking lots and school driveway today. This is a very busy and congested area so please drive and park with extra caution to help keep the kids safe.
Welcome back for another great year at c’usqunela!!
Mr. Wheatley
