Dear Families,
- Health & Safety Reminder… There seems to be a few covid cases floating around in the local community right now. To help us ensure that our wonderful school stays as healthy as possible I am asking that all families continue to be diligent with their daily health checks to ensure children are feeling well prior to coming to school.
Daily health checks:
Students will continue to be required to complete daily health checks, stay home when feeling sick and practice diligent hand hygiene.
The K to 12 Health Check website and app can help kids and parents decide if their child should attend school based on their symptoms. Encourage parents to bookmark the health check website or download the apps for iPhone/iPad iOS or Android devices
- Saleema Noon’s Body Science Workshops for Gr.1-7 students are this Wednesday and Thursday. Saleema is a very well known provincial expert on how best to talk to kids about their own bodies, puberty, and sexuality. The significant majority of what Saleema reviews comes directly from our provincial education curriculum. If any family wishes their children not participate please let us know as soon as possible so we can plan accordingly.
Please note – Due to the large size of our school these sessions are only available for grades 1-7 (not kindergarten).
- Terry Fox Fundraising Continues THIS Week! At c̓əsqənelə we love Terry Fox’s message of hope, helping others, and determination! As part of our efforts to share Terry’s story of hope we are doing both a coin drive and a school wide Terry Fox Run on Friday, September 24th at the Albion Sports Complex. We will do this school run immediately after lunch on Friday and then bring the kids back to the school for dismissal.
For Tuesday we will be collecting Quarters! Please send in any that you have lying around.
- Parking Lot Update – Thank you for everyone’s patience and care in the parking lot area to help keep it safe for the kids. Traffic seems to be moving as well as expected. Please continue to drive as far into the driveway and parking lot as possible when waiting. We ask that cars pull over to the right before picking up and dropping off for safety.
Sincerely,
Mr. Wheatley
