Dear c̓əsqənelə Families,
We are excited that your family will again be joining us this September! Before beginning to wrap up for summer we wanted to send out some September start up information so that your family can have a smooth first week back. Here are a few items you might find useful:
First Day of School
The first day of school for students is September 6th from 12:30 pm – 2:20 pm. Students only attend for the afternoon on this first day. Regular school days begin on Wednesday September 7th with the school day being 8:30am-2:20pm. Please note that there has been a District calendar adjustment and dismissal is now 2:20pm (not 2:25).
Returning students go back to their last years teacher/classroom for this first week. Our goal is to move into new classroom placements on Friday of this first week.
Please inform the office if your child will not be attending on September 6th using the parent portal, or by leaving a message on our office answering machine, to help us confirm student enrollment in a timely manner.
If anyone has any additional inquiries… our school office will reopen on Monday, August 29 at 9:00 am.
Please note: Children beginning kindergarten in September do not attend school on the first day, and will follow a schedule communicated to families at the end of June.
School Supplies for 2022-2023
Rather than requiring parents to purchase school supplies for their children, c̓əsqənelə will again be ordering bulk school supplies for students for this coming year. We will continue to charge a flat fee of $55 per child (planner included). This flat fee of $55 will cover ALL personal school supplies that each child will need for the school year. If any family wishes to purchase supplies separately they will again have this option. Classroom teachers will request school supply money in September once new classrooms have been established.
Keeping informed:
Our School District Office, and individual schools, use our School District Parent Portal for communication. It is important that all families are connected to the Parent Portal to receive timely school communication. Please give us a call if you require assistance getting connected and/or need a new linking letter to sign up.
