Dear Families,
Please review the items below to help us make sure things go smoothly for the kids in the coming days. All of our Portal Announcements are also posted on our school website if you every need to double check any school updates.
- c̓əsqənelə Pumpkin Patch!
As many of you have already seen or heard….The kids had a wonderful surprise on Tuesday morning with a pumpkin patch appearing on our school field! Trips to the pumpkin patch are a popular Halloween field trip but it wasn’t possible this year in the current COVID context. So some of our creative staff decided to bring the pumpkin patch to the kids this year! In total we had over 600 pumpkins, and all students from participating classes, got to choose their own pumpkin to decorate and take home this week.
A big thank you to Ms. Sylte, Mrs. Friesen, the local Fuller Watson store for helping us pick up and deliver the pumpkins, and the numerous other students and staff who helped to create a little Halloween magic on our field this week!
- Student Photo Reminder – The Last Day to Access Student Photos is Friday
Just a reminder that the last day for parents to access individual student photos is THIS Friday! Any families who have misplaced their access code they can email photo expressions directly at studio@photoexpressions.ca to gain access to their child(ren)’s photos.
- We are still planning to do some COVID friendly Halloween activities around the school on Friday within our classroom cohorts. Children are welcome to wear their costumes and your child’s classroom teacher will be communicating any classroom specific plans.
- Health & Safety Reminders
Thank you your everyone’s continuing diligence in following our school’s Health and Safety Routines. We ask that families continue to carefully monitor their child(ren)’s health each morning. Please only send your child(ren) to school if they are feeling healthy as any children with cold or flu symptoms cannot be in classrooms in our current context.
To help ensure we continue to manage this current context well we are also asking all families to please remember the following when walking (or waiting) with students around the school building:
- As much as possible, all adults on school property should practice social distancing and maintain a good physical spacing.
- Remind your children (as needed) that the rule for them when waiting and playing outside is hands off (not social distancing).
- To reduce congestion around the school consider dropping older children off by their POD doors and leaving instead of waiting. We have supervision each morning at the front and rear of the school and will take good care of the kids.
Sincerely,
Mr. Wheatley
