November 4th Update To Families

Dear Families,

Please review the items below to help us make sure things go smoothly for the kids in the coming days. All of our Portal Announcements are also posted on our school website if you every need to double check any school updates.

  1. Just a reminder that there is no school for students NEXT Wednesday or Thursday (November 11 & 12) due to Remembrance Day and a District Non-Instructional Day. We will still be hosting a virtual Remembrance Day Assembly next Tuesday morning, and some teaching within classrooms, to acknowledge the importance of this day.
  2. Please help your child plan for our West Coast Recess & Lunch Play Times. With the changing fall weather please help your child(ren) to remember their jackets and outdoor clothing each day. It is not healthy for kids to be cooped up in their classrooms all day so as much as possible we try to get the kids outside for their recess and lunch play times. Please help your child(ren) to come to school well prepared to be able to go outside most days.
  3. Lost & Found Items! – Is your child(ren) missing a jacket or hoodie? We have collected a number of jackets, hoodies, and other clothing items off the playground in recent weeks. In an effort to get these items back to the rightful owners we are displaying down the hallway this week. Classroom teachers will help your child(ren) to check these items over the next few days. We will then collect any items not picked up and provide a time for parents to come and check just outside the front of the school in the near future.
  4. This Thursday is our next PAC meeting beginning at 7pm. With the current COVID guidelines this meeting needs to be a virtual meeting on Zoom. If for some reason this embedded Zoom link does not work for your family simply go to the zoom website and type in the Meeting ID and password below to attend. All families are welcome!

  1. Coming Up in 2 weeks…. Student Photo retakes will be on the morning of Monday November 16th for any children who were away, or require a retake, from the first photo days.
  2. Parking Lot Update – Thank you to all families for your continued cooperation in helping ensure the parking lot is a safe space for the kids. We appreciate how many parents are teaching their kids to safely cross and the two school cross walks. After school pick times on rainy days seem particularly busy so if you must drive to pick up students please allow for lots of time and be ready to be patient.
