Dear Families,
Just a few additional updates to ensure the next few days go well for the students before the long weekend. Thank you to all families for continuing to be diligent regarding health checks for your kids. Together, we are continuing to do an exceptional job in keeping c̓əsqənelə a happy place for children to learn and grow!
- Thank You PAC Volunteers!
A HUGE thank-you to all the parent volunteers who have offered to share their talents and time as part of the school’s PAC next year! I would also like to thank our “retiring” PAC Executive members for their hard work to help launch our beautiful new school so successfully even in the middle of a pandemic! Thank you to Joanne Wilson, Carrie Groenwald, Kat Sullivan, Lori Tanner, Sally Roberts, and Heather Brownell
- Do You Know of Anyone Who is Moving?
We have a number of families on our school’s waitlist hoping for a spot in our wonderful school next year. To help us plan as accurately as possible we are asking all parents whose children will definitely NOT be attending c̓əsqənelə Elementary in September to contact the school office. This request does not apply to Grade 7 students moving on to their selected high school. If you are aware of any families who have moved (or will be moving) into the area, please encourage them to contact the school to register their child(ren) prior to the end of June.
- Student Supplies Update
c̓əsqənelə will again be ordering bulk school supplies for student’s personal school supplies for this coming year. We will continue to charge a flat fee of $55 per child (planner included). This flat fee of $55 will cover ALL personal school supplies that each child will need for the school year. If any family wishes to purchase supplies separately they will again have this option when additional information is sent home in June. Classroom teachers will request school supply money in September once new classrooms have been established.
- Change to Structure of Year-End (last day for students June 25, 2021):
In recognition of the challenges our families have faced during this unusual school year, the District has adjusted the structure of our year-end. The last day of classes will now be Friday, June 25, with summative progress reports being issued and dismissal occurring at 2:20 pm. Parents/guardians can contact teachers on June 28th or 29th if they have additional questions about their child’s report card and/or learning progress.
