Dear Families,
A big thank you to all the families who visited the school last week supporting our student inclusive conferencing, PAC movie night, and Book Fair. The school had a very positive tone all week and it is very exciting to see the many opportunities, and so much support, for the kids at our wonderful new school. The Book Fair raised an incredible three thousand dollars that will go directly back into buying books to further build up our school library collection!!!!
Thank you in particular, to all parents, who participated in conferences last week. This conference reporting process is vitally important to help teach the children take ownership for their learning and to develop a growth mindset. This process helps kids to better see, and understand, that they are improving in a very tangible way. Sitting down together as teachers, and parents, with the kids builds a much stronger relationship between school and home. Thank you to all!
Things to be aware of this week are:
- We are doing another school Spirit Wear order over Spring Break. If any families would like c’usqunela school T-shirts or Hoodies please complete the order form and bring it back no later than THIS Thursday March 12th.
- Our Family Reading Time will again be open daily in the library THIS Tuesday morning from 8:10am onwards for any readers that would like to join us! Please remember that primary students must be accompanied by an adult.
- Discounted Vancouver Warriors Lacrosse Tickets – We recently had a school gathering where some of the Vancouver Warrior players presented to the students about the sport of lacrosse. As a result of this visit, students and families at c’usqunela are able to attend any Warrior games at a significantly reduced price. I have pasted the link here for any interested families.
- We still have a few families parking in the Townhouse Complexes across from the school during the afternoon pick up time. This is private property so please help us be a good neighbour and find an alternate spot to park when picking up students. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Mr. Wheatley
