Dear Families,
I just wanted to provide a brief update before the weekend to let everyone know that we have completed all of our health and safety planning and are really looking forward to seeing the kids back on Monday!
In reviewing the recent provincial health guidelines it was quite gratifying to see that most of the new guidelines was very similar to routines that were set up early in the pandemic and that we were still doing as a school. Our goal next week will be to do a good job of reinforcing these important routines again with the kids.
Some reminders to be aware of for Monday, and other items that families can do to keep c̓əsqənelə as safe and healthy as possible are:
- Daily health checks: as always, please keep your child at home if they are sick. This routine is the single biggest item we can collectively do to keep the school healthy. Families should complete a health check with their child(ren) daily. If you are unsure if your child is well enough to attend school please use the K-12 Health Check app as a reference (on district website or Click here). To protect the health of others, we are not able to let sick children remain in classrooms when they are feeling ill.
- Masks: Please ensure that your child(ren) have their mask(s) with them each morning to limit the number of disposable masks we need to distribute. All students, staff and visitors are still required to wear a mask indoors unless exempt.
- There is no change to our school’s and pick up/ drop off routines. Our multiple pod entrances and established line up routines already do a good job of minimizing congestion.
- Absences: Please continue to advise the school in a timely manner when you know your child will be absent to help us flex staffing to best meet the needs of the kids.
As a school community, we have collectively, done a wonderful job navigating this crazy pandemic context together. In the coming weeks I fully expect c̓əsqənelə will continue to be a great place for children.
Looking forward to seeing everyone on Monday!
Mr.W.
