Dear Families,
I hope everyone had a healthy and happy holiday season!!! We are looking forward to seeing the kids back at school beginning tomorrow! January is often one of the best learning months of the year for students. Just a few updates and requests below to help make the first week back a smooth one.
Thanks. Mr.W.
- Do you have any Christmas Cards to recycle??? In anticipation of our School’s Kindness Challenge next December we would like to ask families to send in the front pictures of any Christmas Cards that they are recycling. There is a collection box in the front lobby to collect donations. We would like to reuse the front cover of these Christmas cards with students next year to send encouraging messages to our Canadian Armed Forces as part of the Kindness Challenge.
- Sibling Kindergarten General Registration begins THIS Wednesday! Any families with children already registered at c’usqunela have the opportunity (for 3 days) to register siblings for kindergarten before the general registration phase. The sibling kindergarten registration phase is from January 8-10 and the general registration phase begins February 5th. If you know of any families with children going to kindergarten this September please remind them to check the District website for additional registration information (sd42.ca). C’usqunela Elementary will again have limited kindergarten spaces so families should register early.
- Traffic Safety Update – A big thank you to all families for continuing to be so careful entering and exiting our school’s parking lot each day. When dropping off and picking up please drive as far down the main school driveway as possible before pulling over to the right side. When vehicles drive further into the school’s driveway we are able to accommodate many more vehicles during peak times. Just a reminder that vehicles may not be left parked, or unattended, unless in a designated parking spot.
- Sd 42’s Winter Weather & School Closure Process – If a decision to close schools due to accumulating snowfall is ever necessary then this information will be available to families by 6:15am. This student safety decision is not taken lightly and is the result of a carefully thought out process. Any decision to close schools is made by 6:15 a.m. and details are:
