Dear Families,
Just a few updates to help us make sure things go smoothly for the kids this week. Please take a moment to review the items below. All of our Portal Announcements are also posted on our school website if you every need to double check any school updates.
- To have a little fun Raven POD has organized a Jersey Day for THIS Friday February 5th! We are inviting all students to wear their favourite jersey from a team they support or a club or sport that they play.
- The School District and Fraser Health have provided schools with the following guidance around Valentine’s Day celebrations. Individual classroom teachers will let families know if there is any other information for your child’s specific class but the general guidelines are:
- Valentine card exchange is permitted as long as the cards are basic paper cards (cards with pens, stickers or candies are not permitted at this time).
- Schools and district buildings must not allow homemade food items available to students or staff at this time (e.g. birthday treats, bake sale items, candy-grams, PAC lunches, potluck staff lunches, holiday baking, etc.). Only individually prepared and packaged commercial items are permitted at this time at the discretion of the classroom teacher.
- The last day to make any PAC Global Coffee orders is this Tuesday February 2nd using the link below. Pick up is on Monday February 8th at school from 1:30pm to 2:45pm

General Kindergarten and Grade 8 Registration begins THIS week on the Parent Portal!
- Kindergarten “Sibling” Registration has ended. For any of our families who missed the Sibling Kindergarten Registration phase (for children born in 2016) please be sure to register your child at noon on February 3rd to ensure that they have a place with us in September.
- If you know any families in our catchment area with children starting kindergarten this September please remind them that the District’s General Kindergarten Registration phase begins this Wednesday February 3rd at noon. This year, we will have limited kindergarten spaces so families should register early to avoid disappointment.
- Grade 8 registration also begins this Thursday February 4th at noon. Any families with children in grade 7 need to register for high school at this time.
- Registration requests are date and time stamped so the sooner a child is registered the better chance they have to secure a spot.
Mr. Wheatley
