Dear Families,
Just a few quick updates to be aware of for next week.
- This upcoming Tuesday, October 15, the school district will be hosting a community open house in our gym to celebrate the opening of our new school. The event is scheduled to run from 11:30 am to 4:00 pm, with speeches from attending dignitaries scheduled at the beginning of the event. The open house will not impact educational programming.
If you would like to attend the open house, please RSVP to register@sd42.ca
Families should expect a very busy parking lot this Tuesday during the afternoon pick up. Next week, we will also send out additional information regarding school pick up and drop off routines to help us collectively ensure that the parking lot area is as safe as possible for the students.
- You may have heard from parents at neighbouring schools that they are participating in an Emergency Release Drill next Thursday October 17th. c’usqunela is NOT participating in this year’s Emergency Release Drill. We have all of our Emergency procedures in place but with our school’s very busy start we did not want to add this additional drill into the schedule this year. We will participate in the District’s Emergency Release Drill next year.
- I am very pleased to announce that Laura Bruce, one of our talented support teachers, has been chosen to be our school’s Acting Vice Principal for the remainder of the school year! Mrs. Bruce will still continue in her support teacher role to ensure consistency for the students.
Thank-you again to all families for the amazing support you have provided during these exciting first two weeks in our new school. I hope everyone gets to enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend!
Sincerely,
Mr. Wheatley
