Dear Families,
Thank you to all the families who attended conferences last week to celebrate the kids learning and progress! A strong connection between school and home always helps the kids to be more successful. Expect paper report cards to come home the end of this week.
There is a lot of activities going on in the next couple of weeks so expect a few more portal reminders. Also, anyone visiting the Albion Community Center in the next few weeks should take a moment to check out the Christmas Tree decorations completed by Bobcat and Sasquatch Pods!
This coming Week…. Between Monday December 5th– Friday December 9th
School Spirit Wear Orders have been sorted and are being sent home either today or tomorrow. We do our best to ensure 100% accuracy but if there has been a sizing mistake just come into the office and we can make things right.
The Young Entrepreneur Show is THIS Thursday! Over the past few weeks… our grade 6/7 classes have all been learning how to run a small business. They have products to sell and business plans to consider all the things a business owner would. Many of the classes will be visiting the Young Entrepreneur Show this Thursday. Please consider sending in a few dollars with your child(ren) to help support our budding young entrepreneurs!!!
We are organizing a Toonies for Tummy’s & Cereal Box Collection Food Drive for school. All toonies and cereal boxes will be donated to the Friends in Need Food Bank.
To make this a truly exciting initiative for the kids we are planning to arrange ALL the cereal boxes into a massive domino run that we will unleash at our school Gathering on Friday for them to see! A link below shows one created down the school hallway of a school in NY.
Domino run of donated cereal boxes from Upstate NY elementary kids
When shopping this week please consider buying an extra cereal box (and toonie) to send in by Friday Morning to create a massive domino run and help the food bank.
Our next PAC meeting will take place THIS Thursday, December 8th, 7pm at the school. All parents and guardians of c’usqunela students are members of the PAC and are encouraged to attend PAC meetings. Hope to see you at the last meeting of 2022!
We have a number of kids who really like to play ball hockey at recess and lunch. If you think your son/daughter might enjoy something a little more organized…. below is the website for the local ball hockey association. The season will run April-June, and registration will close soon. https://www.rmmbha.com/
Lastly, we are beginning to see some great opportunities appear for the kids and families at the Albion Community Center next door! For all those athletic families out there…. the Albion Community Centre (ACC) has arranged for Maple Ridge’s own softball Olympic bronze medalist Larissa Franklin to visit the ACC for a meet and greet on December 8th between 2:30-4pm. For more information about this exciting opportunity click here.
They are also collecting feedback from the community about Albion Community Centre after their first 6 months of operation. Below are two surveys they are looking for people to complete. One is an evaluation form for anyone that has attended any programs and/or events at the Community Centre so far or if they have been here for a rental booking. The second one is asking for program suggestions for things they would like to see offered at the Community Centre. The surveys are open until December 9th and we are looking for as much feedback as possible.
