December 2nd Update To Families

Dear Families,

With conferences and reporting winding down we are looking to have a little more fun with the kids, AND help support others in our community! We have been hearing that a number of families in the local community are really struggling with the increasing cost of food this year. So… our December activities plan is to focus on the supporting the Food Bank given the escalating cost of food and everything else!

  1. This coming Week….  Between Monday December 5th– Friday December 9th

We are organizing a Toonies for Tummy’s & Cereal Box Collection Food Drive for school. All toonies and cereal boxes will be donated to the Friends in Need Food Bank.

To make this a truly exciting initiative for the kids we are planning to arrange ALL the cereal boxes into a massive domino run that we will unleash at our school Gathering on Friday for them to see! A link below shows one created down the school hallway of a school in NY.

When shopping this weekend and next week please consider buying an extra cereal box (and tonnie) to send in by Friday Morning to create a massive domino run and help the food bank.

  1. c’usqunela in partnership with the Albion Community Center will be hosting a Drive Thru Food Bank Food Drive in the parking lot on December 14th between 8-9am.

Where: Front Entrance, Wednesday December 14th

When: Before school 8:00am-9:00am

HOW: DROP off donation as walking into school or driving by main entrance

  1. Lastly, Raven Pod would like to invite interested students and families to participate in c’usqunela’s “Five Days of Festivus” during the final week before the holiday.

Monday December 12th Red & Green Day -wear as much red and green as you can!

Tuesday December 13th Ugly Christmas Sweater Day -create your own or wear that favourite ugly sweater

Wednesday December 14th Holiday Head Gear Day -show your spirit with antlers, lights, Santa hats and more.

Thursday December 15th Flannel Day -wear your favourite comfy flannel

Friday December 16th Christmas Morning PJ Day -get comfortable and come dress like you just woke up Christmas morning.
