Dear Families,

This week looks to be an exciting one at c̓əsqənelə with a lot happening around the school. Please review the items below to help make this week a great one for your child(ren).

  1. Monday – Festive Winter Wear Day Our student leadership team is inviting students to start December off in style by wearing any festive winter wear they this Monday. Students are welcome to wear any ugly sweater, Santa hats, toques, or other winter themed wear this Monday.
  2. Beginning THIS Monday – December’s Kindness Challenge To encourage our students to become kind and thoughtful community members we are inviting students to participate in our Kindness Challenge. Beginning Monday there will be a daily kindness challenge that students can do at school or home. It is a great opportunity to highlight how kind words and kind actions matter and that their actions (small or big) can make a difference. We will share the Kindness Challenge with students at our Monday morning assembly and have attached the Kindness Challenge Calendar here for families to support at home.

  1. Beginning THIS Wednesday & Thursday – “Coins for Kids” coin drive in support the Maple Ridge Christmas Hamper SocietyWe will be starting our school coin drive to support the Maple Ridge Christmas Hamper Society this week by asking students to begin to bring in any donations that they have collected or earned. We will start with nickels and dimes on Wednesday, quarters on Thursday, and larger amounts next week. The coin drive will finish next Thursday with an assembly and classes having an opportunity to visit the facility.

If any families would like to make a more personalized donation…. The Christmas Hamper Society is trying to include a set of new pajamas for each child in the hampers this year. Your child is welcome to deliver these pajamas on the day of their tour or they can be placed under our school tree to be delivered.

  1. Thursday – PAC Winter Fair from 4:30 – 8:30

Please make a point of sharing with friends and family about our very first PAC Winter Market.  THIS Thursday from 4:30-8:30pm in the school gym. There will be over 45 vendors and a food truck! We will have photos with Elsa, leadership students as Elves, and many other highlights. We hope to see many families out for this first big school event!

  1. Thursday & Friday – Student Inclusive Conferences

There is an early dismissal THIS Thursday at 11:30am, and no school for students on Friday (except for individual conference times). These conferences will provide a great opportunity for discussion and include the development of student learning goals. Report cards from these conferences will be sent home one week after the conferences are complete.
