Dear Families,
- Our amazingly talented K-3 students performed our first primary musical this week presenting “Snow Way Out”. It was great to see the kids learning how to dance, sing and perform with lights, microphones, and a small audience. Our goal as a school is to provide all the kids with an authentic theatre experience as part of the performing arts programing at c’usqunela. Once covid restrictions fade we are very much looking forward to having parents attend the shows in person as well. For now… we will be sending home a protected You tube link for parents to watch the show once we have finished editing the video. A big thank you to Ms.Palmer, Mr. Saywer, and other staff who brought this musical to life!!!!
- Student photos were delivered today!!! We have made sure that all photos were delivered to classrooms this afternoon so families can have them for the holiday.
- Also, going home today is a flyer from the PAC inviting families to donate their recyclable beverage containers to help fundraise for our new playground. All details are explained in the flyer or on the PAC’s Facebook page.
- Thank you for the tremendous support for our Young Entrepreneur Fair recently. As part of this project the students donate a portion of their profits to local charities ($600 in total!). The following donations were made on behalf of the students: Canucks Autism Network – $25, Red Cross – $150, Team Seas – $17, SPCA – $152.70, Bee Keepers – $2, Terry Fox Foundation – $1.90, BC Cancer Society – $9, BC Children’s Hospital – $152.95, Athletes in Kind – $70.25, Gamers Outreach – $8.60, Tri-Cities Transitions – $29.40. Thank you for your support!!!!!
- C’usqunela’s Student Leadership Team would also like to thank all the students and families who supported the recent concession at the Entrepreneur Day. As a school we raised $600 to support the Maple Ridge Christmas Hamper Society which is located 5 minutes from the school down near Planet Ice. Amazing generosity!!!!
- Thank you for everyone’s continued patience and caution when driving through the school’s parking lot. To ensure we continue to make this area as safe as possible for the kids … we ask that drivers please remember to drive as far down the school driveway as possible before pulling over to the right to drop students off. This allows more vehicles to safely drop off and exit the school parking areas.
