c̓əsqənelə Elementary Updates – Week of May 13th

It was great to see almost 80 new kindergarten families out for our very first Welcome to Kindergarten event last week at Golden Ears Elementary! Lots of fun, many smiling faces, and a great deal of excitement!

Today’s update has information about our next PAC meeting, other upcoming events, and how to buy school supplies for September! I will continue to send out updates via email and post on the school website until September when we are able to use the district Parent Portal like other schools. I hope to meet many of you soon at the events below!

  1. Our next Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) meeting is (Thursday May 30) 6:30-8pm at Kanaka Creek Elementary Library. All parents are welcome!
  1. c̓əsqənelə “Power Hours” for students wanting to meet Mr. Wheatley and other staff to play some dodgeball games, and learn more about what to expect at their new school in September.
  • Grade 1 & 2– Tuesday May 28 , 3:30–4:30 (Albion Elementary Gym)
  • Grade 3 & 4–Wednesday May 29, 3:30–4:30 (Albion Elementary Gym)
  • Grades 5,6, 7– Thursday May 30, 3:30 – 4:30 (Albion Elementary Gym)
  1. How to buy school supplies for September:

For this coming September 2019 you have two ways to purchase school supplies for your children attending c̓əsqənelə Elementary.

  1. You can purchase directly yourself using student supply lists on our school website.
  2. You can purchase a school supplies kit through School Start and have them delivered directly to your home.

If you choose to have School Start to provide and deliver school supplies for your child(ren) please note that:

  • This order form has a Starter Package (consumable items) as well as a list of other required items. The required items are recommended by each teacher; they include items such as pencil cases, sharpeners, and calculators. These products do not need to be purchased on a year to year basis if you already have them.
  • You can place your order online at schoolstart.ca. Visa & MasterCard are accepted.
