Dear parents/guardians,

Our new school, c̓əsqənelə Elementary, is planned to open for the beginning of the 2019/20 school year. We will be opening registration for c̓əsqənelə at noon on January 7, 2019 for students who will be in kindergarten through to Grade 7 in September 2019. Registration will be done online through the district parent portal. Registration will close at midnight on January 31, 2019.

Construction on the school is proceeding smoothly at this time. However, because we are dealing with a very tight timeline and because construction work is weather-dependent, we will be monitoring progress on the new school closely. If we identify a delay that will affect the September 3, 2019 start date, we will let you know and will share with you details about any temporary accommodations that may need to be made. Such accommodations would likely include supervised bussing from the c̓əsqənelə school site to a temporary site. We will post all important updates to the c̓əsqənelə Elementary website, and will also send notices to parents/guardians of c̓əsqənelə students through the district parent portal.

Registration Process

Registration for c̓əsqənelə Elementary will open on January 7, 2019 for students entering kindergarten through Grade 7 in September, 2019.

Starting at noon on January 7, 2019 applications for registration will be accepted on the SD42 Parent Portal at https://parents.sd42.ca/. If you do not have a parent portal account, please create one before January 7 at https://parents.sd42.ca/

To determine your elementary school catchment based on your residential address or daycare address, please use our School Locator.

Once we receive your application for registration, you can expect to receive an email reply within five days confirming the status of your application.

Per district policy and procedures, registration priority for c̓əsqənelə Elementary will be based on the following criteria:

1. IN catchment (proof of residence will be required)
2. IN catchment daycare (proof of daycare in catchment will be required)
3. OUT of catchment
4. OUT of district
