I hope this message finds everyone healthy and continuing to manage well. In connecting with various families this week, it sounded like one of the common themes, was how to best talk children about our current situation and manage their stress and anxiety.
I wanted to highlight an excellent website resource that Ministry of Education has recently put together for families to help navigate our current context.
This website is for parents and called Keep Learning BC. Under the Keeping Healthy tab you will find a lot of very useful information about how to talk to your children, manage stress and anxiety within your family, how to organize the kids daily routines in a healthy manner, and many other resources.
This terrific website also contains information about things to consider when learning from home and everyday learning activity suggestions.
I personally found the information on the Keep Learning BC website under the Keeping Healthy tab to be very helpful to know how best to frame conversations and manage children’s worries. I strongly recommend that everyone take a few minutes to check this out when you have an opportunity.
