Dear Families,
I hope this message finds you and your family healthy and safe in this unsettling time.
I just wanted to send a quick update to let everyone know that our staff has been very busy over the past couple of days developing a range of structures and learning opportunities. I think that what is being planned will be quite helpful in supporting you, and your children, while our normal learning routines are “on pause.”
This week, teachers will be reconnecting with every family via phone, Face Time, Zoom Video Conferencing etc…to discuss how we can best support your family, and your child(ren)’s learning needs in this current context. More information will be provided by classroom teachers in the coming days on how we will begin this new virtual learning phase together.
We know that there will be a range of what families want and need from us in the coming days and weeks. Our hope is to provide your children with a little routine, some opportunities for them to remain virtually connected with us and their friends, and some helpful learning opportunities. Please keep in regular contact with our staff around what is working and what would be helpful.
Our wonderful new school has already shown an amazing capacity to be flexible and support each other during our first year together. This is a very resilient and caring community. In time, this crazy situation will pass, and our normal routines will re-emerge. In the mean time let’s try to take care of each other as best as we can.
If there are things that I might be able to help with please don’t hesitate to call or email me at the school.
Sincerely,
Mr. Wheatley
