Weekly Memo May 11-15, 2026

May 11, 2026 By Tanya Dailey

Happy belated Mother’s Day to all Albion moms.  A huge thank to our PAC for hosting the wonderful muffins for mom last Friday.  It was a fabulous event to end a busy week.   A reminder that there is a Professional Development Day on Wednesday of this week.

Div. 2 and 3 Entrepreneur Fair

A reminder that tomorrow is the Div. 2 and 3 Entrepreneur Fair.  Throughout the day classes have been invited to come on down to the gym to purchase items.  The cost of the items range from $1.00 to $5.00.

Class Placements

We are beginning to create our classes for next year. Please be assured that staff devote considerable time, care, and attention to this process. This very complex and lengthy responsibility occurs over several weeks and continues into September when class placements are finalized. Throughout the year, there have been many opportunities for parents and teachers to discuss each child. Staff work together to consider the following criteria very carefully:  social emotional skills and relationships, as well as learning styles, strengths, and needs. Our goal is to create safe and engaging inclusive classrooms that balance these factors, as equitably as possible. If you feel there is further information to consider about your child, you may submit input to Mrs. Dailey in writing by Friday, May 22.  Please refrain from requesting specific teachers or peers by name as these submissions will not be reviewed.

Grade 7 Fundraiser – Krispy Kreme Doughnuts!

Support our Grade 7 students by participating in our Krispy Kreme Doughnut Fundraiser!  All funds raised will go toward the Grade 7 field trip and leaving ceremony. The top selling Grade 7 student and top selling Gr. 6/7 class will receive a prize!

Each box  of Krispy Kreme Original Glazed Doughnuts is $15.00 per dozen.  Orders will be delivered to the school on Friday, May 22.

Place your order by Thursday, May 14 on the Parent Portal.   Paper orders can be completed with cash or cheque.  Please return paper order forms and payments to your child’s teacher.

If you have any questions, please contact Ms Downes (stephanie_downes@sd42.ca) or Mrs Carr (katie_carr@sd42.ca)

Thank you for your support and for helping make our Grade 7 year memorable!
