We are happy to share the good news that we will be operating a Universal Meal Program at our school this year. This program has been made possible through the Feeding Futures School Food Programs Fund (FFSFPF), provided by the Ministry of Education and Childcare. We will be offering the Universal lunches twice a week.
Universal Meal Programs aim to ensure that all students have access to nourishing meals. Busy households, hectic schedules and financial stressors can all attribute to the challenge of preparing school lunches five days a week. We have the capacity to assist families financially by offering a full or partial subsidy for all lunches ordered, by utilizing funds from the FFSFPF. The partially subsidized lunch will cost $3.00 per student per meal, and a fully subsidized lunch will be free of charge. We welcome any families who could benefit from a full subsidy to reach out or email Mrs. Dailey at tanya_dailey@sd42.ca We will order and pay for those lunches from a school account for the remainder of the school year. Your family information will not be shared with the service provider. They will receive your child’s first name, last initial and classroom for delivery purposes.
If you feel the $3.00 is manageable, you are welcome then to register and pay online with Simply Foods. All information regarding registration can be found on the following Fuel Up Quick Start Guide. The password for registration is Albion
There is one lunch option available to order each of the two days per week, with the opportunity to opt for a vegetarian, or halal version of this lunch. All lunches will arrive looking the same, so there is no identification of which lunch is fully and which lunch is partially subsidized.
Registrations are open throughout the school year.
If you have any questions regarding this lunch program, please contact either Kellie McNutt, our CCW, at kellie_mcnutt@sd42.ca or Mrs. Dailey at tanya_dailey@sd42.ca .
