Albion Families,
As you are aware, in the event schools are closed are again tomorrow (Friday), the school district will notify families by 6:30 am via the school district website, so please do make sure you check. For more information on the district inclement weather procedures please visit https://www.sd42.ca/inclement-weather-procedures/
If schools are open tomorrow (Friday), I thought that I would send a note to all families regarding some areas of our school grounds where the accumulation of snow has made it challenging, especially our front parking lot.
Front Parking Lot
Please understand that due to the large amount of snow, we will be putting in the following measures to help maintain the safety of our staff, students, and families:
- On Friday ONLY, vehicles will not be able to exit via the North exit as all vehicles entering our lot will need to exit through the South exit. Please be aware that the South exit only permits a right-hand turn.
- We will not be able to accommodate any extended drop offs. Please be prepared to drop your child off in 30 seconds or less. We also request that you do not exit your vehicle. We will have staff out front to assist students. If you require more time you will need to park elsewhere.
- Only licensed daycares (with a parking pass) and vehicles with an accessibility pass will be permitted to park in the front lot. Sheridan or Mrs. Dailey will direct you as to where to park.
- Parking is for staff only.
- If you are walking across the parking lot, please be careful as it may be slippery.
- It may be difficult for drivers to see the painting of the crosswalks so please be mindful of pedestrians.
- Please ensure that you reduce your speed.
Back Parking Lot
- Our back parking lot is CLOSED to all vehicles other than staff.
- If your child enters the school grounds through the back lot, please ensure you remind them to use the entrance gate by the road and walk behind the portables and remind them to walk on the walkway, not on the entry road.
Sidewalks
If you are walking your child to school, please be mindful of the sidewalks as they may be slippery. It may also be difficult to push a stroller.
Whether you are walking your child to school or dropping them off, by entering the school parking lot, ensure that you give yourself enough time.
A reminder to please ensure that your child comes to school dressed prepared to spend time outside.
We appreciate your understanding and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact either myself, or Mr. Sheridan.
Mrs. T. Dailey
