June 26, 2025 By Tanya Dailey

Congratulations to our Grade 7’s who had their leaving ceremony yesterday.  We wish you all the best as you move on to high school.  A special thank you to all the Grade 7 parents who organized yesterday’s ceremony for you truly made the day extra special for the students.

Just a few reminders:

Summer Office Hours

Friday, June 27 8:30-1:00 pm

Monday, August 25- Friday, August 29 8:30-3:00 pm

Lost and found
There are still several items that have not made their way back home.  All items are in our front entrance.  Any unclaimed items will be donated to charity at 12:00 pm on Friday, June 27th.

MyClass (Final Reports)
A reminder that all reports are available through MyClass.  All login instructions are on the Parent Portal.  They can also be found under the Parent tab of the district website.

Medication
A reminder to all families that have provided the school with medication for your child.  Please stop by our office to pick this up as all unclaimed medication, including Epi-pens will be disposed of as of Friday, June 27th at 2:30 pm.

All medication documentation needs to be updated and provided annually

Yearbooks
All yearbooks have now been handed out.  If families forgot to order, they can still do so by using the link that was on the Parent Portal. The books will just be sent to your home instead of school.

Year End Message from the PAC
Thank you for an amazing 2024-2025 school year. As a PAC, we have worked hard to connect parents with the school community and create a collaborative relationship between students, parents, and staff.   Here is a flyer that outlines all we have accomplished with your help this year- 2025-2025 Recap!

Our email address will be monitored over the summer, so please reach out if you have any questions.  Don’t forget that if you stop in at Kanaka Liquor and mention Albion PAC, a percentage of your order will be donated back to us!  And please make sure you are following our Facebook Page for all important updates that will be coming your way towards the end of August.
We all hope you have a wonderful summer and are able to enjoy the time you have together with your families.  We look forward to seeing you all at our Welcome Back BBQ in September (stay tuned for details!).
Sincerely

Albion Elementary PAC Executives (Charles, Beth, Keri, Corinne, Kim & Nicole)

2025/2026 School Year Start date
First day of school – September 2, 2025: Students in grades 1-7 start at 12:30 pm (students report to their last year’s teachers).  A detailed memo will be sent out in late August.

Incoming Kindergarten students will have have an opportunity to attend an optional open house on Tuesday, September 2 from 1-2 pm.  A detailed memo regarding this will be sent to all Kindergarten families the week of August 18th.

The complete Albion school calendar can be found under the Calendar Tab on this website.

School Fees 2025/2026
Once again, this September Albion Elementary will continue with the school supply program.  A flat fee of $55 per child (planner not included) will be charged. This flat fee of $55  per child will cover ALL personal school supplies that each child will need for the school year.

This flat fee will ensure that school supplies bought for all students:
-Are the appropriate learning supplies for the grade level.
-Are of good quality and will last the year.
                -Are cost effective.
-Will eliminate the “hassle” factor many families experience struggling to find required supplies.
-Will help to reduce visible inequalities with regards to student socio economic situations by ensuring everyone has the consistent and comparable learning materials

How will this process work?
Classroom teachers will bulk order the required student school supplies in June. Supplies will be delivered to the school in August and will be ready for use when children arrive in September.

Any families with additional questions about this process, or who are concerned about financial hardship, are encouraged to speak with Mrs. Dailey or their classroom teacher directly for assistance.

Classroom teachers will request school supply money in September once new classrooms have been established.

Salvation Army Back to School Supplies
Once agin the Salvation Army will be providing families the opportunity to apply for school supplies.  Information about the program can be found at https://ridgemeadowssa.ca/back-to-school/. If you are interested in being part of this program, please send Mrs. Dailey an email at tanya_dailey@sd42.ca and she will forward you the login password.

Have a fabulous summer!

Mrs. T Dailey, Mr. R. Sheridan and Mrs. A. Ryder
