A huge thank you to our PAC for hosting a very successful Christmas Market this past weekend.
On Thursday we will be having our Remembrance Day assembly. All students will be given a poppy to wear during this assembly. The poppies are given to us by the Royal Canadian Legion in exchange for a donation. All students are asked to bring in a cash donation that can then be sent to the Legion.
Congratulations to our boys competitive volleyball team who will be playing in the district finals on November 29th at Garibaldi Secondary School. We encourage people to come out and cheer them on. Game times will be put into next week’s memo.
The townhouse complex to the north of the school has reported that there have been a number of students trespassing into the yards that have backyards that face towards the school. It would be great if, after school hours, your child plays in this area to have a conversation with them about private property and being a good neighbour.
Our staff has reported that cell phones are beginning to becoming disruptive to the learning environment. If your child brings a cell phone to school it is to be kept in their backpack between 8:30 am and 2:20 pm, unless they have permission to use it for educational purposes. If parents need to contact their child you are requested to please contact our office as we will pass a message onto them. Our full cell phone policy can be found in our Student/Parent Handbook which is located at the front of your child’s planner and also on our school website. If you have any questions, please feel free to speak directly to Mrs. Dailey.
Student planners have all arrived. If your child is in Grade 1-7 (with the exception of Mrs. Crisafi, Mrs. Mackenzie, Mrs. Cawker and Ms. Cortina’s class) the cost of the planner is $6.00. If you have not yet paid for your child’s planner it would be appreciated if this could be done as soon as possible. Payment can be made through cash or on the parent portal.
