Family Request
A reminder to parents and guardians that all visitors to the school must check in at the office. If you would like to speak with a teacher or staff member, appointments should be made via email. We are happy to ensure forgotten items reach your student if you kindly leave them at the office.
MRE is fortunate to have an assortment of alcoves and other wonderful workspaces available to students scattered around the school. In addition to academic learning, these spaces are used by teachers, EAs and administrators to support the emotional learning of our students. As such, we kindly request that families refrain from using the hallways or other areas in the school during instructional time unless they have an appointment or are registered volunteers.
Thank you for helping us support our students.

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION INFORMATION
THE GIVING TREE
A giving tree is a way to bring the community and families together to spread joy during the holiday season. Each year Maple Ridge Elementary Staff, PAC and Community assist in supporting families during this time of giving. This year we have decided to try something a little different.
The giving tree model is to ensure that all children and youth experience the magic this time of year. Each ornament has information with a child’s needs and wishes for this season of celebration. Gifts, hygiene and household essentials, and a holiday meal are just some of the ways that The Giving Tree can alleviate the financial stress of the season, allowing families to enjoy time together making memories.
This would be an amazing opportunity to have your children involved in the process of giving. If you would like to support a child during the holiday season, please take an ornament off the tree, located at the entrance of the school.
Your donations will greatly impact and bring smiles to the student and their family. If you have any questions regarding specific items or inquiries contact cora_lindgren@sd42.ca. Please drop off any unwrapped, donated items along with this tag to Ms.Cora’s room (#1025) no later than Friday, Nov 29.
Happy Holidays!

The winter concert is fast approaching, and we will be having a silent auction for 2 pairs of tickets to each performance (morning and afternoon). ERASE WEBSITE
The ERASE (Expect Respect and a Safe Education) program is an initiative by the BC Ministry of Education designed to help make schools safer and more supportive for students. It gives students, parents, and teachers resources to address issues like bullying, discrimination, mental health, and substance use. Through ERASE, students can anonymously report concerns if they see or experience something unsafe or harmful. This reporting tool connects directly with school staff to ensure quick support and resolution. Students can report through the QR code or by going to https://erasereportit.gov.bc.ca

CPF
We are seeking a representative for Canadian Parents for French (CPF) to attend meetings and share information with our parents and staff. There are grants available for our French students, but we need a parent volunteer to help us access these resources. If you’re interested, please contact Karl Dagenais at cpfridgemeadows42@gmail.com for more details, or feel free to join a PAC meeting to learn more about how you can contribute. Without a volunteer, we risk missing out on valuable information and access to grant funding.
The next CPF meeting will be on November 22nd 11:00 am at the Patch.
SANTA MALL
The Santa Mall donation bin is up and running. Look for Santa at the front entrance… We appreciate your support!
